PRESS RELEASE 3rd NET METERING Meeting

The 3rd project Meeting of the EU funded NET METERING project was successfully organized by the Municipality of Prespes on Tuesday, 26th of November 2019, at Prespes City Hall, Lemos – Prespes, Greece.
The project (project’s acronym: NET METERING) entitled: “Integration of Photovoltaic Plants for self-consumption under the Net Metering Concept in Public Buildings/Pumping Stations and Replacement of Low-Efficiency Municipal/Street Lighting with LED Lights”, is implemented in the framework of the INTERREG IPA CBC Programme “Greece – Albania 2014-2020”.
The NET METERING project’s major objective is the installation of Photovoltaic (PV) stations for electricity production for self-consumption (according to the net metering scheme) in public buildings and infrastructure in Greece and Albania. The transfer of know-how between the two countries and especially the transfer of know-how from Greece to Albania in the field of the net metering scheme, is another basic project’s objective.
The 3rd NET METERING project Meeting was held with the active participation and contribution of representatives of the Municipality of Prespes and of the Society for the Protection of Prespa. Unfortunately, the Albanian Beneficiaries of the project could not attend the Meeting due to the tragic events in the neighboring country. Our thoughts and sympathy are with the Albanian people!
